Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Types of Personal Data I process
Handwritten registration forms with Parent/Guardian address; emergency contact details; any pupil medical/ allergy details. Parent or Guardian’s express consent for tutor-only to take photographs and record a video in class.
Lawful basis for processing Personal Data
Legitimate Interest for Parent/Guardian/ Pupil registration is the teaching and learning of dance and the performing arts. Parent/ Guardian Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
Legitimate Interest for photography and video is School publicity or more commonly for Pupil and Parent/ Guardian critique, specific to the Subject (i.e.the Pupil) and their work. Parent/ Guardian Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
How I process Personal Data
No personal data is transferred to third parties. No personal data is transferred from paper to electronic record. All personal data is handwritten and kept in a secure folder by the tutor and for their exclusive use.
How long I will keep Personal Data
For the length of the pupil’s attendance at Nicola Rodmell School of Performing Arts, only. Additionally, I review my data retention practices every 2 years.
Data Subject Rights
Right to be Informed: My registration forms (paper for all and adult-only-online) make clear what data I collect
Right of access: You as Parent/ Guardian have the right to request a copy of the information that I hold on you and your child (the Pupil)
Right of rectification: You the Parent/ Guardian have the right to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
Right to be forgotten: You the Parent/Guardian can in certain circumstances ask me to erase any personal data that is stored on you and your child (the Pupil)
Right of portability: n/a as you would register with your chosen School quite separately from me
Right to restrict processing: You as Parent/Guardian can ask me to limit the way I use personal data on you and your child (the Pupil)
Right to object: You as Parent/ Guardian have the right to challenge certain types of processing, e.g. you my decline to receive my newsletters, flyers, any direct advertisement of activities which I believe you and your child (the pupil) may be interested in
Rights related to automated decision making, including profiling:
You as Parent/ Guardian can ask me to confirm that I do not engage in automated decision making activities, if you believe that personal data is being processed unlawfully. You as Parent/Guardian are free to exercise your rights by emailing me your request to nicolarodmell1970@googlemail.com

Any person who participates in dance classes provided by the Nicola Rodmell School of Performing Arts shall do so at her/his own risk. S/he shall assume all risk involved including but not limited to all loss or stolen property, cost, claim, injury, damage or liability sustained while participating.
The Nicola Rodmell School of Performing Arts will not be held liable for any misfortune that may occur.
Live Streaming Online Class Disclaimer
Attendees and Participants must adhere to this health and safety warning which is issued to all participants joining classes.
Attendees and Participants must ensure that
1. They have enough room to participate in the activity without there being any obvious risk of injury to themselves, to others, or risk of any damage to surrounding property.
2. That the flooring in the room is safe for activity to be undertaken, as much of the participants view as possible is presented on the screen to enable efficient teaching feedback, and appropriate clothing is worn by participants.
3. That where appropriate, and especially in respect of activities for children, participants have suitable safeguarding measures in place, a parent/guardian present, or the consent of the parent/ guardian for the children/ child to participate at home.
4. In participating or attending, understand that the precise mode of teaching will be slightly different to that in an actual physical class. By participating in or attending the online classes, I/they/she/he agrees to the assumption of personal risk in so doing.
